For their 10th print issue, HODINKEE commissioned 10 photographers from across the globe that work with objects to make a photograph of a Hamilton field watch. In this photo portfolio, the intention was to see how photographers with different interests, approaches, and aestetics interpret this classic, mechanical watch.
While I have shot jewelry and watches in the past, this project allowed me the freedom to interpret the watch as I liked. The Hamilton has such a classical and timeless design that I wanted to connect it to the idea of passage of time. I love flowers and find that they have a specific beauty that changes over the course of their lifespan. Like the flowers, a watch reminds us to be present and to consider the passing of time in our lives.
